Jenny: I can't go back...
Jenny was our last adopter. Not every file is suitable to be used on Montgomery, only those files that will need a lot of bookkeeping. Sometimes even a more difficult file will require shoebox bookkeeping because the client might have complexities, investments, high touch tax issues etc.
In those cases you still need a Senior staff member to prepare these shoeboxes. Jenny is our most senior person working only on the most important clients. Hence she became the last person on our team to try Montgomery.
In her own words after the first file, and after everyone else has tried it for months, "I can't go back.... you can't make me go back to bookkeeping... It saved me so much time I finished that file in a single day, last year it took 3 days"
Yogi: Can I finish all my work in here?
Yogi is our intermediate accountant. She has been using Montgomery quite a bit. The quality of her work is very high, and most of us practitioners know that means it'll take more time to prepare.
She said to me the other week, "I need more features built into Montgomery.... Can I finish all my work in here? I could finish it faster" We built Montgomery with a degree of comfort and ease for the accountant user. It's about quality of life, comfortable to use, and finish the work faster.
While we have every intention to keep building, and keep making Montgomery better, and even adding more functionality in the future, today what we need are more users like her, and like you who can be enthusiastic to keep giving us advice on what to build next.
Patricia: I think I messed it up...
Patricia is a more senior member of our team, who again was a late adopter. She didn't realize there were 2 separate working papers, Credit Cards and Bank Statements were separate. The logic and architecture of each type of statements are so different that we HAD TO make 2 separate apps.
She ran a working paper under BankWP --> using credit cards. Then she ran the CreditCardWP --> using bank statements. No big deal we'll just run it again. This was a file that was about to be due for the month end so we need it done quick.
A quick re-run and she was done this file by the end of the same day. The speed of Montgomery makes it so that a mistake of this magnitude isn't even going to slow us down.
